Depending on the field of application, new tools can be created and existing ones can be modified and enriched with new features.<br><br>Computer-guided surgery is increasingly gaining ground in clinical interventions. However, access to reliable digital tools remains limited due to cost and technical limitations. The aim of \u201cFree Surgical Planner\u201d is to present alternative solutions with free digital tools on open platforms.<br><br>In particular, the \u201cFree Surgical Planner For Dental\u201d is a series of free modules for computer-guided dental implantology, developed on the open platform of 3D Slicer, which combines clinical reliability with research freedom. Four modules were developed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Dental Implant Imaging<\/strong>&nbsp;enables DICOM metadata access and store, slice-driven implant placement and slice coordinate export.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Regist<\/strong><strong>ration<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Module<\/strong>&nbsp;aligns scan models with CBCT data, offering registered model repair and undercut removal tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Virtual Prosthetics<\/strong>&nbsp;simulates prosthetic rehabilitation with an expandable prosthetic library and interactive part placement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Generic Implant Creator<\/strong>&nbsp;generates pre-implants and customizable implant systems, automatically aligned to prosthetically-driven positioning. Guide tube position is set to default depending on the implant system, but it can also be customized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extensions of 3D Slicer were also used in the workflow of the \u201cFree Surgical Planner For Dental\u201d:&nbsp;<strong>Dental Segmentator<\/strong>&nbsp;for automated segmentation of CBCT and two more for automated
